Stereo 10 ~ 1008 AM was a former Brisbane AM Radio Station with a Top 40 Music Format from 1985 until 1988. The station studios were located on Coronation Drive, Auchenflower, Brisbane and were officially opened by Boy George & Culture Club on July 1st, 1984 (known then as Radio 10 before changing name to Stereo 10 in 1985). In 2014, "Stereo 10 Brisbane" was resurrected, as a non profit, nostalgic and community based organisation. In 2017, it was announced that "Stereo 10" would launch a 24/7 Online Radio Stream, playing all of the 80's favourites, all of the time! The popularity of this announcement through the Facebook page and Official Website, led to the release of a series of test podcasts over the Festive Season of 2016, to gauge the feasibility and viability of launching an online radio stream. As a result, over 3000 people were reached and shared the podcasts within a 48 hour period. The overwhelming audience support, has now paved the way for volunteer employment positions to become available, for those who have a desire and passion for gaining experience, that will lead to a career in the Radio Industry. Stereo 10 is committed to working in conjunction with both its commercial and community partners, to offer and provide training opportunities for talented and creative people in Brisbane.
